Movement Devising Lab
This is a fun, low pressure chance to make something outside of a rehearsal process. A place to play and (re)connect with your creativity. An opportunity to roll on the floor and maybe get a little sweaty. Each session is structured independently of the others (i.e. come when you can!) Open to all levels of experience. As one participant stated, “it really gets you in the mood to make something”.
What will we be doing?: It’ll change from session to session. The focus is always on physical embodiment, sometimes we will be working in pairs or small groups, other times we will focus on solo movement creation. We’ll play around with various techniques and ways to get into an embodied state.
Sessions will follow this format:
- Check-in/opening
- Warm up
- Open movement
- A more structured activity or two
- Closing/check out
I try to make the space available to people of all experience levels – all you have to bring is yourself, some comfy clothes, water, and a desire to play! I encourage people to modify all activities to suit their bodies.
COVID: Masking is optional, but if you are feeling at all ill, please stay home
